Vision paper eIDAS professional certificates

Practitioners of a recognized profession, such as notary or chartered accountant, use a professional certificate to identify themselves online and to demonstrate that they are authorized to perform the activities associated with the profession in question. These professional certificates are often still issued under the Dutch PKIoverheid system.

 

The advent of the revised European eIDAS regulation and new standards creates a more versatile, flexible and reliable perspective on the use of professional certificates.
